Join History and Theory for the "Philology Now" conference, which will take place on September 20 and 21 in the Center for the Humanities.

The conference will bring together distinguished scholars working across a broad historical and geographical spectrum with approaches ranging from translation studies, intellectual history, literary studies, concept history, and historical linguistics. Our goal is to think about philologies both in the past and in relation to our methods today.

The conference will be structured around eight presentations of pre-circulated draft papers, each of which will be introduced by a ten-minute comment from an invited scholar. These comments will serve as a catalyst for the group discussion.

If you are interested in attending any of the sessions, please email [email protected] for the papers portal password.

This workshop is being held with support from several departments and centers at Wesleyan University, including the Allbritton Center for the Study of Public Life, Center for the Humanities, College of Letters, Department of History, Department of English, Fries Center for Global Studies, and Classical Studies.
